Opis stanowiska
We are looking for Senior to Principal Hydraulic Modellers, who specialise in ISIS, Tuflow, Flood Modeller Pro and/or Infoworks ICM. We are seeking self-motivated individuals to provide technical delivery of projects, management of projects, technical supervision and training of staff and liaison with clients.
This exciting opportunity will involve working on a wide variety of projects for a range of clients, including the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, local authorities and developers.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to help develop the business and will be required to prepare proposals and responses to tender opportunities as well as providing technical leadership.
It is essential that the candidate has a relevant academic background, significant experience in the flood risk and water management industry and has achieved chartered status with a recognised professional body.
It is also essential that applicants have extensive experience in hydraulic modelling using ISIS, Tuflow, Flood Modeller Pro and have used them to complete various complex hydraulic modelling projects and fluvial and surface water flood risk assessments.
Applicants are also required to have experience mentoring and supervising team members as well as, project management and preparation of proposals.
Wymagania
Responsibilities:
It is desirable that the candidate will also have experience in, or knowledge of:
• Flood Estimation Handbook (FEH) hydrological analysis methods
• coastal process modelling (MIKE21 or similar)
• flood risk assessments for development, including specification and/or design of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS).
• design and options appraisal for flood risk management
• GIS packages, e.g. Arc, MapInfo, QGIS
We are looking for someone who can:
• provide technical leadership on a range of hydraulic modelling studies using UK recognised flood modelling packages (including ISIS, Tuflow, Flood Modeller Pro)
• manage and deliver complex hydraulic modelling projects
• be responsible for the technical quality of work carried out within the team
• mentor and train junior staff
• review and check work (technical outputs) completed by others
• prepare proposals/bids, including methodologies, budgets, resource plans, and contractual and commercial arrangements, under the direction of the Team Leader
• establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and colleagues
• work closely with other senior staff to enable delivery of the wider teams workload
• identify skill gaps and training needs of junior staff
• work co-operatively across functions and business units to share information and ideas
